download (6)Many people can picture themselves rolling down the road in an RV with their significant other by their side, enjoying everything the beautiful country has to offer. And they usually picture themselves being about 65 years old when they do it. That’s really no surprise, really, recreation vehicles have long been the super toy of the retiree set. But, what might come as a bit of surprise, is the fact that median age of RV owner has decreased from over 60 years of age to somewhere in the neighborhood of 49. And even if you’re not quite ready to purchase a massive RV and park it in your driveway, there is still the option of renting an RV for your vacation, and for some that has become an attractive alternative to other travel plans.

Gas prices have gone up, and that likely makes many people shy away from the thought of renting a huge RV and filling up tank after tank on a 2-week summer vacation of touring around. However, plane fares have also gone up, and the cost of hotel rooms has gone up as well. So, when you average everything out, you just might end up saving some money by driving your vacation home around in the form of an RV. This is especially true if you’re looking for a way for your entire family to go away on vacation together. If you have a big family and you need to book a few hotel rooms each night and you have to feed everyone in restaurants for three meals a day, you really can save money by renting an RV, buying groceries and skipping those hotels and restaurants. Do some research for your summer vacation and find out if renting an RV is right for you.
